Shailesh is a leader in North America Engineering, Construction and Building materials practice and his focus has been on growth strategy, sustainability and digital transformation across basic materials, engineering and construction​

Shailesh leads McKinsey’s Net Zero Built Environment Council, an executive-led council with 60+ member companies, that focuses on action-orientation to accelerate sustainability in built environment. Led growth strategy development for a Global building materials major by defining the next horizon of growth opportunities through adjacencies, acquisitions and digital opportunities to unlock additional $2Bn in sales, defining opportunity roadmap and executing first phase of implementation​. Led growth strategy and portfolio review of B2B and B2C players ($100B+ enterprise value) and identified adjacent sub-sectors to achieve a 25% improvement in TSR. Identified potential targets for inorganic growth and developed organic growth plan by defining go to market, differential management structure and capabilities required.​ Led infrastructure strategy effort for a middle eastern government public sector entity to define investment injection into construction and infrastructure sector, define thematic areas to catalyze and create a forum and an ecosystem of leading construction players in the region​. Led multiple operations, supply chain, commercial, digital and analytics transformation engagements for multiple basic materials across North America, Europe and Middle east. Served a spectrum of engagements ranging from strategy, independent due diligence, bottom up planning and implementation execution.

Before joining McKinsey, Shailesh worked at Schlumberger Oil Field Services. While at Schlumberger, Shailesh led operational business units across Middle East and Africa and led the charge on Schlumberger’s digital transformation for 2 locations in Egypt​

Shailesh holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (India) and a Masters of Business Administration degree from INSEAD ​
